Troubleshoot Audio

Photobucket                Troubleshooting  audio. There are a couple of ways to do this .The first is to make sure none of your settings are muted  the  sound mixer is one and usually looks like a speaker in your task bar, and another is if you have something like a realtek audio manager ,found in control.

Another method to troubleshoot audio  is to click control then troubleshoot then troubleshoot audio playback .                                                                                                      The last and most difficult problem to solve is if your computer has selected the wrong driver for either your head phones or speakers . This happens a lot when using usb connected devices or headphones .Click the following control, sound and the playback tab . A pop up box will appear right click inside the box and check off the two choices that will appear show disabled devises and show disconnected devises a new driver may appear if you believe it is the correct one right  click on it then pick select as default .

I also have heard  many people say that you should instal or reinstall or update your driver either from device manager or by downloading a driver from Google . If your driver was missing  or needed updating device driver would do so .you can see this if you uninstall a driver as soon as you reboot windows searches the internet and re installs it . Finally if all else fails and the problem occurred recently you can correct it with a system restore .

             Troubleshooting microphone

You can troubleshoot your microphone the same way click the following start ,control, sound, recording tab then inside the recording popup box right click select  show disabled and disconnected devices all microphone drivers will appear then left click the correct driver  then then if its device is plugged in click default then apply OK .In simpler terms just because a device is plugged in or its driver is installed in device manager it  doesn't mean its driver is being used this is because there might be more than one driver installed for 1one device or it might be disabled or disconnected this is especially true of devices that use usb connectors. Finally there is also the chance that microphone use is not properly configured in the individual program you are trying to use many programs have settings which require you to specifically  choose which device you wish to use to record with on my own computer I have a head set with a microphone but I have found that using the Logitech microphone from my web cam is much easier to select  and has better recording quality when I use programs like audacity or debut video capture .Finally by right clicking on the driver and selecting properties you can access hidden options such as levels and enhancements .
